Police investigating the shooting of a man in Enfield have renewed their appeals for fresh information.

The man is fighting for his life in hospital after being shot two weeks ago while sitting in a parked car outside a Travelodge hotel in Lincoln Road, close to the busy A10 Great Cambridge Road in Enfield.

Police said over the weekend that there had been no change to status of the investigation since it was passed to the Metropolitan Police’s Homicide and Major Crime Command team.

A statement continued: “A 20-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday, 12 April on suspicion of attempted murder. He has been released on conditional bail.

“On Thursday, 13 April, a second 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He has also been released on conditional bail.”

The victim, a 20-year-old man, remains in a critical condition, the statement said.

Police were called to reports of the shooting at around 9.45pm on Wednesday 5 April.

Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Packer, of the HMCC, said:  “The victim of this shooting currently remains in hospital in a critical condition and it is of paramount importance that anyone who witnessed or saw anything that night comes forward and speaks to us.

“The victim was in the car park of the Travel Lodge hotel and was shot at as he sat in a car.

“This is a really busy area, if you were in Lincoln Road near to Great Cambridge Road last Wednesday and remember anything no matter how small now is the time to say something.”
